The raw materials used to manufacture grinding wheels are mechanically ground and separated using sieves of different mesh sizes, ultimately guaranteeing a product with a consistent grain size. The grain size, as expressed by increasing numbers, is equivalent to the number of openings (meshes) per square inch of the last sieve through which the material passed.
